McLean – Route 66 Motel
The old Route 66 Motel is unfortunately closed. I could not find out more information why it is closed oder the history about the old motel.

Amarillo – Cowboy Motel
The Cowboy Motel in Amarillo has been opened. It is a basic motel, not in the best corner of Amarillo. The advertising sign in the form of a cowboy is a nice photo opportunity on Route 66

Amarillo – Big Texan Motel & Restaurant
In 1960, R. J. “Bob” Lee opened The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo on Route 66. Its distinctive architecture soon became recognized across the Mother Road as a good stopping place for great steaks grilled over an open flame. Next to the Streak-House there ist the Motel.

Vega, TX - Vega Motel

Vega – Vega Motel
Ervin Pancoast built the Vega Motel (originally vega court) on Route 66 in 1947. It was in an era of unprecedented prosperity in the United States and in Texas, a time when leisure and travel was a booming industry. Business was good. In 1953 the Pancoasts built an east wing with eight units. All new units have bathrooms and some have a kitchenette. In features a new exterior in 1964, the hotel is not closed today.

Adrian – Fabulous 40 Motel
At the midpoint of Route 66, next to the Midpoint Café, is this old motel, whether it has been opened or not, I could not figure it out, when I was there it looked like as it was closed.
