Lebanon – Munger Moss Motel
Since 1971 the Hotel is operated by Ramona and Bon Lehman. The original Munger Moss was a a BBQ at the Big Piney River at Devil’s Elbow. In the late 1930s and early 1940s a couple named Munger ran the sandwich shop. When Mr. Munger died, his widow married Emmett Moss. Since then, the sandwich shop has been called “HENCE Munger Moss” .
Sometime in the 60s, the family Hudson took over the diner. It was well known, but when the 4-lane Hwy was bulit, the shop was cut off from traffic. The Hudson’s quickly found a new place for their shop. They bought a piece of land in Lebanon, where they opened “Munger Moss BBQ”.
Across the street were 4 Cabins named “Green Gables” and a small motel called “Rock Court”. The Hudsons bought both, and opened the hotel in 1945. 1946, the Munger Moss Hotel was reopened. It now belongs to Bob and Ramona Lehman.
