Cars on the Route
Formerly this old Kan-O-Tex Service Station was “4 Woman on the route”. Operated was “4 Woman on the route” once through the 4 women Melba, Betty, Judy and Renee. The station was renamed a few years ago because of the Pixar film in “Cars” because the film has made this place famous again and the flow of visitors has increased since then. The tow truck “Tow Mater”, which was a main character in the movie, stands on the site.

Galena – Texaco Gas Station
At the corner of Main Street / 6th Street stands this old gas station or repair shop. This gas station was recently restored, but abandoned now.

Baxter Springs – Philips Filling Station
In 1940 and 1950 this building was a gas station. It was led by Ray Parson. Today, the family house-like building is the Route 66 Welcome Center in Kansas.
