Tucumcari – Route 66 Monument
The shiny chrome sculpture is a tribute to 1950s tail fins and “The Mother Road,” Route 66. The scuplture was desgined by Artist Tom Coffin.

Tucumcari – Trading Post
The trading post offers on more than 4,000 square feet of antiques, art, books, clothing, collectibles, farm implements, furniture, gas pumps, guns, hats, knives, magazines, native american jewelry, oil cans, petroliana, pottery, signs, tools, toys, western relics and much more.

Tucumcari – Rock Island Train Depot
Built in the Spanish Mission-style the Rock Island-Southern Pacific depot opened in 1927. At this time Tucumcari was enjoying the rise of auto traffic on old Route 66.

Tucumcari – Tee Pee Curios
Built in 1940’s as an old Gulf gas station on Route 66. The pumps in front of the building are long gone but gaining new business selling curios to Route 66 travellers. The large concrete teepee can’t be overlooked while cruising through Tucumcari.

Tucumcari – Odeon Theatre
The cinema from 1935, built in Art Deco style, is still open in Tucumcari Downtown.

In many places in Tucumcari, there are murals that were considered before the time of advertising neon signs.

Montoya – Old Store
I could not figure out much about this old shop, it is on e of the many abandoned shops along historic Route 66 that was a victim of the Interstate. The building is almost gone, and the terrain is wild.

Newkirk – Post Office
The post office was established in 1910. The old building is still standing, but it is abandoned.

Cuervo – Post Office
Cuervo had a population of 128 in 1946. It seems as nobody lives still here. All building were abandoned.

Cuervo – Ghosttown
Cuervo began around 1901 when the CRI&P railroad came through guadalupe county. Cuervo is spanish for “crow” and the name probably came from nearby Cuervo Hill. Today there are still some building left in the town but most of the residents are gone.

Santa Rosa – Bobby’s Trading Post
The old building is situated on the southern side of the city just off Route 66th

Santa Rosa – American Legion
This building of the American Legion is also found on the historic Route 66 in Santa Rosa.

Santa Rosa – Rio Pecos Truck Terminal
In 1955 this classic Truck Stop opened in the once thriving town of Santa Rosa. Today it is abandoned and only the old billboard in the form of a large truck is still left.

Santa Rosa – Route 66 Auto Museum
About 30 restored cars are in the beautiful Museum in Santa Rosa. The museum is $ 5 admission. In addition to many restored cars, there are also other things to admire and a souvenir shop.

Clines Corners – Truck Stop
In 1934, Roy E. Cline build a Filling Station and Café at the intersection of then U.S. Highway 6 & 2 in the middle of New Mexico. Never did he realize he would have to do it again in 1937 when the highway moved slightly north and renamed Route 66 & U.S. But he did, today it is Clines Corners Truckstop.

Moritary – Longhorn Ranch Truck Parking and Bar
At exit 203 of Interstate 40 is an old sign of Longhorn Ranch, in principle, it is a large car park, which acts as truck parking. Next to the car park is the Longhorn Ranch Motel and El Vaquero Bar & Grill.

Moriarty – Route 66 Shoppping Center
The best part of the shopping mall is the neon sign. You will find there a few shops next door is Subway and McDonadls.

Moriarty – Traning Post Mining & Co
Located next to the Frontier Bar is this old building, unfortunately I could not find out anything further to the Trading Post. The store looks closed.

Edgewood – Midway Trading Post
Located between Edwood and Moriarty is the old trading post from 1945. Until about 1972 there were gas pumps. When the I40 was bulit, it was the end of the Midway Trading Post. A few years ago it was repainted by the residents, but the business remains closed further down.

Albuquerque – Nob Hill
According to the Nob Hill Neighborhood Association, the boundaries of Nob Hill are Lomas Boulevard to the north, Washington Street to the east, Garfield Avenue and Zuni Road to the south, and Girard Boulevard to the west. The area now referred to as Nob Hill was developed beginning in the mid-1920s as Albuquerque began to expand eastward along Central Avenue. The first part of the neighborhood to be laid out was the area south of Central and west of Carlisle, which was platted in 1906 as part of the University Heights Addition and developed beginning in the late 1920s.

Albuquerque – Kimo Theatre
The KiMo Theatre is an old theatre located at Route 66 NW in downtown Albuquerque, probably the city’s best-known landmark. It was built in 1927 in the Art Deco-Pueblo Revival Style architecture, which is a blend of adobe building styles, decorative motifs from indigenous cultures, and the soaring lines and linear repetition found in American Art Deco architecture.

Rio Puerco Bridge
The Rio Puerco Bridge was built in 1933, it is a Parker Through truss bridge located on historic Route 66, crossing the Rio Puerco. It is located approximately 19 miles ( west of Albuquerque.

Albuquerque – Route 66 Casino Baloon & Arrows
Infront of the Route 66 Casino are standing some large arrows and also a Baloon. Those are nice to take pictures from.

Budville, NM

Budville – Trading Company
The 1928 opened Trading Company was then a gas station and car repair shop. The owners also offered their services as tour operators and towing companies. In addition, the Trading Company was an important trading post in New Mexico.
Everything was going perfectly until the day in 1967 when Bud, the owner, was shot dead by robbers. The Trading Company was still open until 1979, but the crowds subsided and so they had to be closed.

Grants – West Theatre
1950 was found a uranium deposits in the nearby mountains near Grants. The population rose rapidly. First lived in Grants approximately 1,200 people during the boom some 12,000. In 1982, the mines were closed. The cinema dates back to the late 1950s. It is still open today.
