Called the Ozark Plateau, also Ozarks, the Ozark Mountains or Ozarks Mountain Country, is a highland region in the Midwestern United States. Missouri is about half of the region. The other parts are in Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

The Ozark Plateau consists largely of oak and hickory forests. numerous rivers and lakes contribute to a habitat for wildlife.

The place Branson, MO is even a small “Las Vegas” in the region.
